Has experience in neuroscience research, with focus on evolutionary neurobiology and neuroendocrinology. Performs research on neuromodulation of auditory processing, utilizing songbirds (Taeniopygia guttata) as models. Has participated in research on: neurobiology of the lizard Tropidurus hispidus (neurogenesis, zinc, hippocampus); neurobiology of the songbird Zonotrichia leucophrys (neurogenesis, testosterone, HVC, RA); hippocampal electrophysiology of rodents (effects of essential oils)
